A short film by Ferdia Hayes, Heidi Fidel, Brenda Flores, Nicolas Silva

Caitilin de Berigny Digital Design studio's first year students showcased their work on the Digital Wall at Central Park as part of World Environment Day. Seventy students produced 18 three-minute films with environmental themes for the launch of 'The 7mm Pitch' project. The Digital Wall is the largest in Australia, and the brainchild of international Light Artist Bruce Ramus, who has created dazzling stage shows for the likes of U2 and David Bowie:

“I have been very excited by the creative talent and depth of sensitivity that the students have shown in exploring not only the themes of environment and sustainability, but thinking beyond the digital wall as a screen. They’ve carefully considered how to create works for an ambient light surface, intended to accompany rather than impose or bombard people through the Mall,” Bruce Ramus

Catch the Air, created by Ferida Hayles, Nicolas Melo, Brenda Flores and Heidi Fidel. Is a vivid story about earth's struggle and battle against the changing nature of the atmosphere. “The title, Catch The Air, echoes the idea of ‘catching’ or ‘taking back’ what humans have put into the environment and taking responsibility for their actions,” says Brenda Flores.
